Machine Learning and Data Mining
Undergraduate course, School of Computer Science and Technology, Guangdong University of Technology, 2024
Since the dawn of the 21st century, informatization and digitization have transformed the world, with information technology permeating every facet of human society. The rapid development and widespread adoption of technologies such as the Internet, the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing, and mobile internet have led to an explosion of data. As the country with the largest number of internet and mobile internet users, China stands at the forefront of this revolution, boasting abundant data resources and a thriving application market, giving it unique advantages in big data development.
The integration of big data and machine learning analysis has introduced unprecedented opportunities in economic research, enabling the study of long-term processes, large-scale spatial patterns, and rapid economic dynamics. Leveraging data from sources such as the internet, social networks (e.g., WeChat and Weibo), IoT, and geographic information systems, economic analysis now reaches new depths and broader scopes.
Through this course, students will learn to apply machine learning techniques to analyze and mine big data, addressing real-world economic challenges. The course emphasizes building practical problem-solving skills and enhancing data analysis capabilities, laying a strong foundation for developing professional expertise.
